About The Book
The Little Green Monster: Cancer Magic by LGM director and breast cancer survivor, Sharon Chappell, helps families talk about cancer, diagnosis, treatment and the feelings that accompany the cancer journey.

The Little Green Monster helps book character Marie and her family survive and thrive through her mother’s treatment. The book includes cancer and feelings vocabulary, as well as cancer resources and activities. The book explores the questions like: What can you expect while a loved one goes through treatment? While science does its work, what can love and everyday magic do to help?
Meet The Characters
Meet the Little Monster Friend Care Duffle
These stuffed animals are begun by volunteers and gifted to children impacted by cancer, individually or as part of a partnership with a local organization.
Upon receipt of the monster, the child completes the sewing of the monster friend by inserting stuffing, a heart and slip of paper with the name of someone they want to give magic to when they hug their monster.
The child then sews the monster shut and completes a monster character profile sheet to bring their monster to life with personality, emotional, and imaginative qualities. Duffle also includes emotion stickers, family reading and activity guide, and tips for talking with children about cancer.
